Each year, hundred of transfer students from around the world continue their post-secondary studies at the U of G. You can begin your application by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Find a Program of Interest

Step 2: Review Admission Requirements Admission requirements vary by program. In addition to presenting the minimum cumulative average from your previous post-secondary studies, you also need to present the high school subject requirements (or equivalent). Review detailed admission requirements for your program of interest: admission.uoguelph.ca/exttransfer

Step 4: Complete Your Application Once your application has been received, an e-mail will be sent with instructions on how to access WebAdvisor. In the ‘Documents’ section, you’ll see a list of documents you will need to submit to complete your application. Transcripts from all secondary and post-secondary institutions attended are required. Applicants to the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and the Diploma in Turfgrass Management programs must also submit a Background Information Form (BIF) as part of the application process. Am I a transfer student?

Can I apply to more than one program at the U of G? You can apply to more than one program at the U of G but you will only receive one offer of admission. You must list your program choices in order of preference. The highest ranked choice will be considered first. If you are not admissible to your first-choice program, you will be considered for your next program choice.

Will I receive transfer credit for courses I completed at another institution? Transfer credits are assessed upon admission and are typically outlined in an offer of admission. Transferring from a college

The number of transfer credits you can expect will vary depending on your college studies. Normally, those that complete a two-year college diploma can receive up to 5.0 credits (1-year of study), and those that complete a three-year advanced diploma can receive up to 10.0 credits (2-years of study). Transferring from a university Degree-level courses are considered on a course-by-course basis and vary based on the degree program and specialization into which you are admitted.

When can I expect an admission decision? Transfer applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis as applications become complete. Monitor your WebAdvisor account to ensure all required documents have been received. For limited enrolment programs, Admission Committees typically review all applications at once after the document submission deadline.
